NDRS includes the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS), one of the largest, most advanced and complex cancer data collections anywhere in the world and the National Congenital Anomaly and Rare Disease Registration Service (NCARDRS) now the largest active congenital anomaly register in the world. Both are population-based disease registers collecting information on cancer, congenital anomalies and rare diseases in England. We provide expert analysis and interpretation of the data we collect and it is used as a source of intelligence for patients, clinicians, public health, health-care performance, basic and applied research, and commissioning. You will lead on the delivery of web applications for both NDRS staff and the general public using cloud first development best practices. You will provide expert technical knowledge throughout the design, build and test phases using test-driven development techniques across the full stack, from the back-end data sources to the UI. You will take the lead on overseeing software development during the full lifecycle of the various systems, including modern DevOps practices, and you also need to be familiar with the scrum agile delivery methodology and deliver software in short iterations with frequent releases without compromising code quality. You will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders and provide expert technical direction on software development best practices for web based front-end and back- end environments. You will take ownership of projects and be motivated to take them through to production. • Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
  • Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
  • Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
  • Delivering value for money., NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
