Full Job Description
- Work with Excel to create reports, manage spreadsheets, and prepare data analysis
- Write and communicate summaries and reports of spend requests, restructuring complex worded descriptions for clarity and ease of understanding
- Take ownership of our spend governance processes; set up and facilitate review meetings, ensuring meeting materials and prepared in advance and documenting review outcomes
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and efficient procurement processes
- Assist in analysing procurement data and identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost savings
- Help support the procurement team in organising, updating, and maintaining supplier and contract information
- Support with rolling out two new Procurement systems we will be purchasing in 2025
- Support with sourcing processes and supplier contract negotiations with the view to lead their own in due course
You will gain hands-on experience working with industry experts to drive real business impact. Successful applicants will enhance their knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout this 18-month programme whilst working towards their Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations (CIPS) and might have an opportunity to secure a permanent role. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in starting a career in procurement. Prior procurement experience is welcome but not required as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will have very good mathematics and English, as well as strong Excel, data analysis and organisational skills., - Minimum of a 7 (A) grade in GCSE Math and English (or equivalent)
- If there are further qualifications such as A levels, degree or equivalent, these should be in a technical field e.g. engineering, science
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data analysis, creating simple formulas and pivot tables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand format
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the procurement field
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong work ethic and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and move at pace
- A basic understanding of procurement principles is desirable
