Full Job Description

A renowned consultancy working with a government client are seeking a dynamic and driven Product Manager to take ownership of their Cloud product from inception to retirement. You will play a critical role in shaping the product vision, leading development, and ensuring that the product life cycle is aligned with user needs and business goals. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for guiding the product through its full life cycle, from initial discovery to release and beyond, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.,

  • Vision & Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear vision for the product(s) you own. Engage and collaborate with teams and stakeholders to evolve and refine this vision over time.
  • Roadmap & Planning: Lead the creation of detailed roadmaps, release plans, and life cycle strategies for product delivery and maintenance, from inception to retirement. Contribute to the overarching departmental approach to road mapping and life cycle planning.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Guide the product through all stages of its life cycle, including discovery, Alpha, beta, and live stages. This may involve leading service assessments when required.
  • User-Centric Focus: Serve as the primary advocate for the users, ensuring that their needs are prioritized throughout the delivery process. Represent their interests in all aspects of product development.
  • Prioritisation & Backlog Management: Lead the prioritisation process for the development team, balancing immediate user requirements with long-term business goals. Create and manage a product backlog to ensure efficient and strategic work prioritisation.
  • Quality Assurance: Provide final sign-off on completed functional development before deployment to the production environment, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize product/service usage data and user feedback to identify new opportunities for functionality or workflow improvements. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based design across the department.

    Proven experience in product management, preferably in government.
  • Strong understanding of product life cycle management, including discovery, development, and maintenance stages.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute product roadmaps and life cycle plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • A strong user-centric mindset with the ability to represent user needs throughout the product development process.
  • Experience in backlog management, prioritization, and leading development teams.
  • Data-driven approach to product improvement, with a track record of utilizing analytics and user feedback to guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
