Full Job Description
Provide local Care Delivery Service focus for nursing practice and professional development / leadership. To take a lead for governance within the Care Delivery Service Leadership Team with particular reference to Care Quality Service key lines of enquiry, audit and Serious Incidents. To work autonomously, within professional and Trust guidelines and to exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of professional practice of nurses, non registered nursing staff and, where appropriate, other staff and to ensure that appropriate training, consultation and supervision structures are in place and consistent with national and Trust guidelines. To work directly with multi-professional teams to assist in the management of risk, facilitation of complex case reviews and the immediate crisis management, which may on occasion involve de-escalation, intervention and restraint. Provide expert care group nursing care opinion and advice within other areas of the Trust. To propose and lead on policy and service changes that impact both on the service area and throughout the Trust. To develop a range and diversity of highly specialist programmes of care and therapeutic services available within the care group, ensuring appropriate changes take place and to lead the change process to enhance service user care and to ensure sound governance.Main duties of the job Provide expert clinical supervision and mentoring for staff working within the care group through formal clinical supervision, supervised clinical practice, case conferences and skills modelling. To improve the profile of nurses within the Division by establishing and maintaining standards, guidelines and protocols that advance nursing and multi-professional practice and promote and implement these within the care group and influence the implementation in other services. To establish and develop proactive and positive relationships with professional leads across care groups and clinical teams. To provide expert mental health nursing advice within Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and with other agencies as appropriate including Social services, Primary Care Trusts, User/ Carer representative groups and voluntary agencies. To influence nursing at a Trust wide level, leading on major developmental projects that impact Trust wide.
