Full Job Description
We are seeking a Programme Administrator to work in the University of York's new Specialist Centre for Social Care, in a new role that will support the day to day operations of the Centre. The Specialist Centre is a new £4.9m investment in supporting researchers across England through a network of social care experts drawn from seven universities and 4 community organisations. The postholder will be situated within the growing social care research group in the School of Business & Society, which includes other large programmes of related work, such as the executive and administrative functions of the national NIHR School for Social Care Research., + Providing day to day administrative support to the Research Support Service (RSS) Specialist Centre for Social Care as agreed by the Operations Manager and Centre Director.
+ Maintaining the RSS database; ensuring that Advisors from across the Centre maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
+ Collating and tabulating data from the Database and other sources for both internal reporting purposes and reporting to the funder, NIHR.
+ Organising governance and operational meetings.
+ Organising events and workshops with the wider team.
+ Managing and coordinating travel bookings for the RSS team. Ensuring that all travel is recorded in the appropriate systems and providing reports where required.
+ Working proactively with the Operations Manager to implement the Centre's Communication and Engagement Strategy.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Programme Administrator will exhibit an enthusiastic, professional and thorough approach to their work. They must be able to demonstrate a high standard of administrative experience, possess excellent IT and strong interpersonal skills, enjoy working as a member of a team, be prepared to learn new skills and have a flexible approach to managing a diverse workload. You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both internal and external to the University., The role requirements include the following knowledge and skills (see the job description for a full list):
+ Experience of working in an administrative role in a busy office environment with multiple stakeholders
+ A proactive approach and the ability to apply initiative and problem-solving skills
+ Be friendly, adaptable and able to work accurately to tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
+ Experience of building successful working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
