Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Curriculum Area ESOL for a 14.8 hours Programme Lead, working Thursday and Friday focusing upon Entry Level provision at Abbey Park Campus.

Combining lecturing with responsibility for leading allocated courses, the Programme Lead will work with a team to plan, deliver and assess learning to achieve positive outcomes for part-time adult learners. The role will include working with the Programme Area Manager and the Director to devise, consolidate and implement appropriate systems to conduct assessments. The role will also entail the monitoring of the assessment schedules for all allocated courses. Ensuring that retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved along with the tracking of learner progress are central features of the Programme Lead's responsibilities.

A full teaching qualification, be qualified to Level 5, or equivalent, with ESOL specialism and have a track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning.

Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Level 4 or above, or equivalent).

Experience of leading course provision and co-ordinating IV are essential together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators. Substantial experience of teaching ESOL Entry Level students is also essential.

The adaptation and implementation of College systems with a view to making high quality learning accessible to all ESOL students and monitoring their impact on individual students and their learning is one of the key features of this role.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate substantial experience of using ProMonitor and Markbook effectively, to set up assessment schedules and to review learning. A substantial amount of internal verification of English, Maths and ICT qualifications will need to be undertaken to support the Curriculum Area with its quality assurance processes.
