Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead the development of the CYP Gender Service in the South East for a 12 month secondment period.
We are seeking someone with a proven track record of designing, developing and implementing new services, and with a sound understanding of the national priorities for gender services in England.
University Hospital Southampton is one of England's largest acute teaching Trusts, offering a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your career aspirations.
Located on the south coast with an international airport and direct rail links to London, Southampton offers an ideal setting to live and work, with the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast.
We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHSwe're committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.
At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognizing that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team. We're committed to creating an anti-racist, anti-discriminatory environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to make a meaningful impact in our communities. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.
The purpose of the role is to:
1) provide programme leadership and expertise to an important, high profile, and complex programme, working closely with UHS services and local and regional partners
2) provide strategic and senior operational support to the ongoing development of the new service, ensuring the delivery is consistent with the Cass Review Final Report and NHS England Implementation Plan and other regional centres.
3) The role will be required to provide assurance internally and externally on the ongoing development of the new service, via regional and national governance forum.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a sound understanding of the national priorities for gender services for children and young people in England. The post holder will have a track record of establishing and/or running new services, supporting service to develop and continually improve their performance. They will have experience of managing complex, multi-disciplinary and ideally politically contentious programmes. The successful individual will be proactive, and solution orientated, with the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of people.
