That's why, when you join us as a Programme Manager for CYP Social Care, you'll be encouraged to share your fresh thinking and empowered to explore new ideas that will shape and improve our services as well as your career., We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to lead the Families First Partnership Programme and the Children's Social Care improvement journey, including the ILACS improvement plan. The role is central to delivering national reforms, driving multi-agency collaboration, and ensuring sustainable service improvements. The Families First Partnership Programme is a high-profile national initiative, shaping early help and family support. You will ensure Suffolk remains at the forefront of this transformation, working closely with local and national partners to implement best practices. You will bring strong programme management expertise, ideally within children's social care. Given the pace and complexity of improvement work, experience in the sector is highly desirable. You should also have a solid understanding of working with local authorities, the Department for Education, and other key stakeholders. - Lead the planning, governance, and risk management of key improvement projects within Children's Social Care.
- Drive performance, track progress, and ensure effective delivery of programme benefits.
- Engage and collaborate with senior leaders, internal teams, and key partners including the NHS, schools, and local authorities.
- Embed sustainable change within services and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide expert programme management support and guidance to stakeholders., Programme Leadership - overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of key projects, ensuring progress towards strategic objectives.
- Governance & Risk Management - identifying risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain programme governance structures.
- Stakeholder Engagement - working collaboratively with senior leaders, partners, and key agencies such as the NHS, schools, and local authorities to drive transformation.
- Performance & Reporting - tracking programme milestones, measure success, and provide reports to senior stakeholders. This is a challenging but rewarding role, offering a unique opportunity to lead transformational change in the lives of children and young people in Suffolk and you will play a pivotal role in delivering the improvement journey, ensuring effective planning, execution, and governance., You will be part of the CYP Programmes Team, which delivers a range of improvement projects across Children and Young People's Services. You will work closely with a Grade 8 Programme Manager (SEND) and a team of project managers and officers across both CSC and SEND transformation programmes. The team is highly collaborative, supportive, and focused on delivering real change., Step 3 - Upload a supporting statement answering the following questions below (no more than 400 words per question). What methodologies did you use, and how did you ensure the programme stayed on track? 2. What experience do you have working within children's social care? How have you built and maintained relationships with partners, communities, and other agencies to achieve a more integrated and responsive service?
- Strong programme management experience, preferably within children's services or a local government setting.
- A track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
