Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work in our London office. You will support in the management and coordination of projects both UK and internationally. As a PM you will also support in the management of internal project budgets, cost plans, fees, project finance monitoring, change controls and client instructions as well as coordinating document management. This role involves providing both internal stakeholder and client-side project management support during all stages of the project delivery lifecycle from feasibility studies through to construction delivery. Leveraging your expertise in structural engineering consultancy you will be well versed and knowledgeable to provide inputs for programme and change management as well as giving support to Project and Studio Directors in commercial matters. This includes mitigating risks, minimising lost margin, and fostering commercial best practices to maximise project performance.Key Requirements:

  • Providing PM support in successful delivery of inter-disciplinary projects within collaborative delivery teams
  • Providing PM management support to the structures and specialist engineering teams
  • Promoting and developing inter-disciplinary working with a key focus on structural and civil engineering design
  • Actively manage subcontractors and resources remote from the core project team where required
  • Support the production of key project information, technical reports as required ensuring information quality and consistency
  • Support the project delivery team in internal audit and design document management
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team
  • Support business development opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Using contract administration platforms such as Asite, Aconex, or others to oversee and act on client communications and instructions. Identifying and managing Early Warnings, participating in Risk Reduction meetings, and facilitating Compensation Events and their implementation. Applications for Payment, Forecasts to Complete, and project programs
  • Supporting the Project leads to develop strategies and measures to mitigate and/or control project risks and ensuring any time plans / actions are tracked and executed

  • Financial Management, Applicants need to possess an excellent technical background in structural engineering. They need to be good communicators and team workers and be able to demonstrate experience in managing and leading projects across a range of industry sectors. They need to be enthusiastic, pro-active and able to work on their own initiative. They need to be open to change and continual improvement. A high level of IT literacy is essential together with a desire to nurture and develop the team members to maximise their full potential.
  • Proficiency and understanding of key structural design software., A recognised engineering degree
  • Ideally CEng MIStructE / MICE
  • An associate member of a related professional body preferably chartered (APM, CIOB) would be desirable
  • AMPQ or Prince2 - desired
  • Experience of working in the Built Environment and demonstrated experience of all aspects of Building Structures, Project Management and inter-disciplinary design
  • Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors with an ability to be agile and adaptable to differing client requirements
  • Applicants must have relevant experience of the project management and delivery of design for major projects.
  • A familiarity with relevant design codes is essential. A working understanding of Eurocodes will also be advantageous.
  • As an individual of high calibre, candidates shall have had exposure to clients, designers, contractors and builders. Through the effectiveness of their technical design and management, the candidate should be able to demonstrate how these relationships have led to the delivery of excellence and the development of client relationships.
