Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to provide administrative support in the setup and overall project delivery of a haemato-oncology integrated Palliative Care service at The Royal Marsden. The aim of this service is to holistically support patients through early proactive symptom control and future care planning. The Project Support Officer will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate the administrative functions of the project, support successful planning, stakeholder engagement, data collection, the development of patient pathways and reporting for this project. The success of this project is expected to deliver key improvements for our patients including: 1. Improved quality of care for patients through holistic symptom management, enhanced communication between patients, improved coordination between hospital and primary care services and future planning. 2. Reduced length of stay through avoidance of non-elective crisis admissions and supporting planning for end-of-life care, which includes the setting patients will be cared for in. To provide project support, administrative leadership and stakeholder engagement to deliver a high quality, comprehensive project support service as part of the delivery of an haemato-oncology integrated Palliative Care service. This role will sit within the Symptom Control and Palliative Care team. The post holder will be responsible for their own workload, including having responsibility for coordinating project tasks, updating project documentation and dealing with project stakeholders, patients and multi-disciplinary teams. They will support data collection and reporting as part of this project. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative support, managing and analysing data, and generating reports to aid in decision-making and progress through the project against project deliverables. The project support officer will monitor and track patient pathways relating to the project and act as a liaison between various stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and addressing any queries.,
- To provide all administrative support to theproject team and be a central point of contact and resource for staff and patients
- Receive and manage incoming communications on behalf of the team using own initiative to ensure items are prioritised and appropriately dealt with.
- Liaise and coordinate project activities with other internal and external hospital personnel, plus 3rd parties including external contractors.
- Use tact, diplomacy and persuasive skills in order to resolve conflicting pressures and issues within the project.
- Resolve complex and non-complex project and patient queries independently, professionally and efficiently.
