Full Job Description
We are a well-established CAMHS service based on the Isle of Wight who are dedicated to aiding children and young people living their best lives through positive mental wellbeing. We are recruiting a Psychological Therapist / Psychologist who can help us enhance our therapy offer. You will join a friendly, kind, supportive and caring team which highly values psychological mindedness., To work as a member of the CAMHS psychology and psychological therapies provision to deliver high quality, evidence-based specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people and their families or carers. To work with complex presentations suitable for psychological therapy in the team, utilising a high level of psychological knowledge and clinical experience. The post holder will need at times to adapt psychological approaches to enable children with neurodevelopmental or intellectual disabilities to access interventions. The post holder will deliver the evidence-based interventions via differing modalities such as a group setting, face to face, and e-clinics. In addition, to support psychological practice within the wider CAMHS team through case discussion, supervision, psychological formulation, and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance., Further information about the Trust and this role can be found on the Job Description and Person Specification document attached. - Holds a Psychological Therapist or counselling psychology / clinical psychology qualification. Professional registration is essential.
- Has relevant experience and strong clinical skills for working through therapy models for trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders to achieve wellness and recovery goals with children and young people with severe and complex mental health needs.
- Has training or experience in adapting therapy models to be accessible for children and young people with neurodiversity or learning needs when required.
- Has experience working and consulting with carers and wider networks to enhance therapy effectiveness and maintain change.
- Can demonstrate the ability to manage a therapy caseload.
- Holds children, young people, and families voice at the centre of their practice.
- Shares our trust values and dedicated to working together, always improving, being respectful and kind and making a difference., Health or Social Care professional qualification RMN / RN(MH), Dip OT, Doctorate in Counselling or Clinical Psychology, Degree in Social Work, or equivalent. Current registration with the relevant professional body for core profession is required.
- If core professional qualification is not Counselling / Clinical Psychology, then post graduate qualification in at least one psychological therapy ( CBT, EMDR, DBT, CAT) is required with current accreditation / registration as a psychological therapist / practitioner with the relevant association for this therapy ( BABCP, EMDR-UK).
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development in psychological therapies.
