We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Purchasing Assistant to join a dynamic and growing supply chain team based in Horsforth, Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to support procurement operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining strong supplier relationships. About the Role: As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in the procurement process, from placing orders to tracking deliveries and ensuring all purchases align with company standards for cost, quality, and efficiency. You'll liaise with suppliers, monitor stock levels, and support the wider procurement team with administrative tasks and supplier negotiations.,
- Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantity, and specifications.
- Track deliveries, follow up on ETAs, and resolve any order discrepancies.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal teams to assess purchasing needs.
- Keep accurate purchasing records, including invoices and delivery notes.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and negotiating where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed.
Strong communication and negotiation skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
- A team player with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Salary- £30,000- £35,000 basic - Free breakfast (Mon-Fri)
