Full Job Description
Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is currently in construction on site at Sizewell C. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Engineer within the Project Delivery Organisation Quality Function. You'll play a vital part in the success of its goals. Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Quality Leads you'll assist them in solving complex, challenging issues and help ensure Quality Delivery ways of working are effective in achieving right first-time delivery.
You'll be supporting the Quality Leads in managing daily PDO Quality QA/QC activities, including creating, reviewing, updating and reporting on PDO Quality governance, manufacturing/construction documents.
You'll have opportunities to take ownership and drive improvements, such as developing processes and procedures, audit plans, implementing new methodologies using problem solving techniques to identify and resolve issues.
You'll enjoy the opportunity to occasionally travel to project locations within the UK in order to achieve close collaboration with our wider project team members and other stakeholders.
Who You Are
You'll have experience of working in the Manufacturing/Construction/Engineering industry and experience of working within an ISO 9001 operating environment.
You'll also have experience of working within a project environment. Experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Governance frameworks in accordance with regulatory requirements and project specifications.
Proficiency developing and reviewing QA-related procedures, templates and forms, with a solid grasp of QA best practices.
Experience conducting quality checks, identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Competent in producing, tracking and analysing quality key performance indicators (KPIs) and creating QA Dashboards.
You'll be IT literate with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Outlook and SharePoint.
Experience in QA/QC and use of reporting tools, with a focus on continuous improvement.
You'll be organised, have a good attention to detail, with a structured approach to work planning and execution.
