Full Job Description

The Receptionist/Administrator will be part of the Reception/ Triage Team and will act as receptionist at the head office at our central office in Brighton, providing a friendly and welcoming service to all visitors. In addition, they will undertake a range of administrative tasks to aid the smooth running of the office and the activities of the organisation., To greet all visitors, in the office and via the telephone, answering general queries, taking messages and directing them to the relevant staff members.
To provide cover for the Brighton Advice Centre Triage / Receptionist such as assessing a client's eligibility for legal aid.
To keep up to date with local services to effectively signpost all enquiries received via our website, telephone and in person.
To collect rent from tenants and clients, as well as other payments such as fundraising cheques, and record the details of payments in line with BHT Sussex procedures.
To ensure that information and resources in the reception area are up-to-date and accessible.

To be successful in the role of Receptionist/Administrator you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:

Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills - including face-to-face, email and telephone.
Ability to actively listen to clients, tenants and visitors and build relationships based on trust and understanding.
Ability to prioritise and manage workloads under pressure.
Ability to work proactively and effectively both independently and as a team member.
Ability to implement effective administrative systems e.g. record keeping, filing systems.
