Full Job Description

We have gained a reputation as a pioneering and innovative force, responsible for policing a large diverse, multi-cultural population. If you are looking for a fresh challenge which offers a genuine opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives, variety and the chance to broaden your experience, then we are the force for you. Responsibilities: WHAT DOES THE RECORDS REVIEW AND RECTIFICATION PRACTITIONER ROLE INVOLVE? You will be working within a small, collaborative team of 8; 7 practitioners and 2 supervisors. The practitioners are based at both Godmanchester and Luton. We are a hardworking team, and this role is vitally important, underpinning much of the work undertaken by officers. Every day is different whatever your role in policing, so here's an overview of your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Review deletion and rectification requests from members of the public and ACRO for national and local records.
  • Create records on a digital archiving system.
  • Interrogate current and legacy systems to review existing records in line with national guidelines.
  • Manage enquiries from police staff, officers and external third parties.
  • Provide instruction to all police and non-police personnel in the use of the force records management database.
  • Contribute to achieving the BCH vision, purpose and values.
  • Travel within Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire or externally for operational, training, or general duty requirements.
  • Occasional work in a warehouse environment, undertaking manual handling tasks.

It is important to us that we hire someone with the right values and attitude that align with ours. Whether officer or staff, we are serving the public, and the policing Competency and Values Framework underpins everything we do. We are also looking for you to:
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and use your initiative.
  • Take a solution-focused approach to any query or task.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be organised and methodical.

We have 1 full-time post of 37 hours per week available. Our core hours are 8am - 4pm, Monday-Friday. The role is office-based with the opportunity to work remotely once the probationary period has been successfully passed and in agreement with your line manager.
