Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Regional Clinical Lead to oversee and support units in our Midlands region. This is a full-timeappointment, including the leadership element, with the remainder of sessionsworked clinically. The post holder will carry out the Clinical Lead rolefor 3 days a week and undertake work as a Surgeon providing terminations ofpregnancy, for 2 days per week. As a Clinical Lead, you willplay a vital role in providing medical leadership, ensuring the delivery ofhigh-quality and evidence-based care within our services. You will manage ateam of medical professionals, contribute to quality improvement initiativesand risk management, and provide medical advice to specialist teams. Interest inundertaking surgical abortion in the first and second trimesters is desirable,and training will be provided if needed. This role is anticipated to have aMonday to Friday schedule with some remote on-call duties.,
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and training to ensure adherence to BPAS clinical policies and procedures.
- Act as a medical resource, offering expertise on clinical policies, suitability for treatment, and management.
- Represent BPAS in external stakeholder meetings and contribute to service and policy development.
- Manage a team of medical professionals within the region and provide support with medical appraisal across regions.
- Lead assessments and support performance improvement for doctors.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and risk management processes.
- Collaborate with other Clinical Directors to organise CPD meetings, contribute to clinical educational packages, and provide training.

- Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent, with full General Medical Council registration and license to practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development in sexual and reproductive health care Desirable
- DFSRH or other specialist qualification in family planning / sexual and reproductive health
- Training qualification (, Letter of Competence in Medical Education) Experience Essential
- At least 3 years experience in the provision of abortion care
- At least 3 years experience in the provision of other aspects of sexual and reproductive healthcare
- Sound clinical knowledge and experience of delivering high quality, safe patient care
- Experience of staff training and education Desirable
- Experience of medical management
- Experience of performing appraisals
- Experience of influencing change management
- Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries, Essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and staff management skills with the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with all professional / managerial disciplines

Salary : £101,000 - £151,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. Plus an additional £10,000 per annum for the Clinical Lead supplement. Relocation package : Relocation costs as defined within HMRC guidelines up to £8000,

- This role is working full time as a RCL and Surgeon for the Midlands region over Monday to Friday. You will need to travel to units as needed, twice a week.
