Full Job Description
United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
Central Office staff work closely with schools, offering a wealth of expertise to underpin schools' own knowledge. Our specialist departments, including HR, finance, technology, strategy and performance, estates, and marketing, work alongside dedicated school improvement teams. By joining us, you will provide ongoing support to schools, ultimately improving the outcomes of our pupils.
United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.
We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.
United Learning is a group of schools which aims to provide excellent education and improve the life chances of all the children and young people we serve. As one of our Regional Directors for our growing portfolio of secondary academies, you could be at the helm of that ambition. We are currently looking for an exceptional school leader to join our team to provide support to our academies in the north of England.
With the overarching ethos of 'bringing out the best in everyone', our collaborative team of Regional Directors is committed to making a transformative impact on the lives of thousands of children and young people. Join us, and you will be entrusted with leading the improvement of a number of our secondary academies, working with school leaders to raise standards and enhance progress. Passionate about supporting the most exceptional educational opportunities for children, you will deliver the Group's strategy and vision, translating this into practical guidance and solutions that are individually tailored to each school's unique requirements.
Reporting to the Director of Secondary Academies, you will use your previous experience as a Headteacher to support school leaders in developing improvement priorities, often in challenging contexts. We know that the education profession isn't easy, but at United Learning, we work as a team, achieving more by collaborating than any single school could on their own. Utilising collective knowledge and facilities to achieve visionary results, you will therefore simplify work processes and implement ambitious support programmes, making the most of sector-leading subject specialists, a group-wide curriculum and extensive CPD opportunities. With this support behind you, you will focus on the practicalities of elevating each of your academies to the highest standards. You will be firmly aligned with the 'United Learning Way' which outlines the guiding educational principles of our Trust.
To make the most of this career-defining opportunity, you will need a strong track record in school leadership, including coaching others and developing effective school improvement strategies. With the chance to oversee group-wide strategic projects, you will bring well-developed relationship-building and influencing skills to the role, and your innovative mindset will deliver impactful change. We recognise that as a talented school leader, you will have choice about your next career move. Why not talk to us about what you are looking for?
United Learning is the largest national group of schools. And as a group, we can reward our staff better. From unique career progression opportunities and better pay to enhanced benefits and a highly-respected wellbeing programme, we will ensure you have the support you need to secure a great work/life balance - all while helping children to succeed. This is a genuine opportunity to work at the very heart of United Learning.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the Director of Secondary Academies, Ben Antell at the following email address: Benjamin.Antell@unitedlearning.org.uk
