Full Job Description
As a Release Train Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of diverse, medium to moderately complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost. You utilizes your expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met. You communicate with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates. For this role, we are open to candidates living and working in the UK, France, The Netherlands or Romania. Your tasks and responsibilities: Planning, Coordination, and Delivery
- Lead and serve as the highest authority on implementing and optimizing the SAFe methodology within the ART.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables by managing dependencies and risks.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value within the ART using various tools and methods to align strategy and execution.
- Assist Scrum Masters in executing Planning Increments (PIs).
- Ensure backlogs are complete, relevant, and aligned with strategic objectives, adhering to DoR and DoD standards. Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all ART stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, status, and challenges to stakeholders, including senior management, ensuring alignment between business and technology strategies.
- Foster collaboration between teams, product management, system architects, and services.
- Identify and resolve conflicts that impede the ART's progress. Facilitation & Coaching
- Facilitate and drive ART ceremonies, including PI planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt sessions.
- Measure and improve ART performance through clearly defined metrics.
- Coach and advise leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices, mindsets, and execution.
- Support the team in applying the agile way of working (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) that best fits their work type. The teams As a Release Train Engineer, you will be working with 12 different teams, working on a set of various products within the same business unit. These teams are spread over a number of different locations in Europe and India. Furthermore, you will be working very closely together with two other Release Train Engineers and their teams; Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Software Architects etc. to name a few., You and your expertise matter more than the place where you live. The location of this role can either be at our office in Kingston/UK, Alphen aan den Rijn/Netherlands, Bois-Colombes/France or Cluj/Romania. You will work with teams spread over these locations among others. A certain degree of traveling will be part of this position. We have ahybrid working model which means that you will be working at the office twice a week and 3 days from home.
- You hold a Master degree in a technical field
- You have extensive working experience; ideally in a comparable role.
- You communicate pro-actively and clear and in a timely manner.
- Strong English language skills
