Full Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Camden to assist with the appointment of a Rent Service Officer, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., We are seeking a Rent Service Officer to provide a person-centered and proactive housing income collection service across Camden. You will be responsible for managing housing income accounts, preventing arrears through early intervention, and supporting tenancy sustainment. This role requires excellent communication skills, financial awareness, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to Camden residents.,

  • Manage housing income accounts, ensuring timely collection and addressing arrears.
  • Initiate and monitor repayment plans, legal proceedings, and referrals to legal services.
  • Engage with residents to prevent arrears and provide support for welfare benefit claims.
  • Ensure safeguarding practices are upheld to protect residents' well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated services.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor financial data, and ensure compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Analyze data to meet annual collection targets while supporting financial efficiency.

    Experience in housing income collection, financial account management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation and welfare benefits.
  • Proven ability to negotiate repayment plans and manage sensitive situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
