Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in Porphyrin Nanoring Synthesis to work under the supervision of Professor Harry Anderson for a period of 9 months. The project involves the synthesis and investigation of π-conjugated porphyrin-based molecular wires, nanorings and chiral assemblies based on these compounds.

Applicants must hold a first degree in Chemistry. The research requires experience in multi-step organic synthesis. Experience in the synthesis of π-conjugated porphyrin-based molecular wires and porphyrin nanorings, including purification using recycling gel permeation chromatography, is essential. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory and is available from 1st March 2025 for a period of six months.
