Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an experienced research manager who will play a lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of activities to enhance the university's preparations and submission to research assessment exercises, notably the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029.
The role holder will be responsible for providing expert advice and project management to support the technical and operational delivery of the REF preparation and submission. They will also lead the development of the university's impact strategy, providing expert guidance to underpin pathways to impact for REF as well as supporting the embedding of research impact as an integral element of the university's research culture. The role holder will report to the Director of Research and Postgraduate Research and work closely with them, as well as with the Associate Deans for Research and Innovation and the REF planning group.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent qualifications or experience) with knowledge of the Research Excellence Framework and experience of supporting the development of high quality and impactful research. They will also be a skilled project manager with the ability to interpret data and provide insightful
