Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding research midwifery team. Do you want to be part of one of the best and biggest research midwifery teams in the UK? You would be working on a groundbreaking research, The Generation Study which will sequence the genomes of 100,000 newborn babies. Every year hundreds of babies are born in the UK with rare genetic conditions, early intervention can enhance the health and quality of life. Main duties of the job To be responsible for maximising recruitment into the Generation Study within the Trust. This will include developing recruitment strategies, monitoring rates of recruitment, performance studies within the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital. Essential
- Two years post registration including 2 years experience within maternity or genetics specialty
- Registered Midwife or Nurse, NMC Registered
- Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of midwifery practice Desirable
- Experience of clinical trials co-ordination, nursing research
- Awareness of research process Skills Essential
- Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication
- Self-starter and able to motivate others
- Team player
- Demonstrate ability to use own initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
- To have excellent time Management
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise their workload
- Assertive and strong patient advocate. Desirable
- Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve within the scope of research
- Experience in the setting up and delivery of clinical trials.
