Full Job Description
Meta is seeking AI Research Scientists to join fundamental and applied research teams, which are focused on making significant progress in AI. Advances in AI are key to our mission, spanning some of the most pressing research challenges of our generation across such areas as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics, and applied mathematics, particularly including areas such as Deep Learning, generative models, reinforcement learning, computer perception, natural language processing and speech. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in producing new science to understand intelligence and technology to make computers more intelligent, or to work on more applied problems across the company., 1. Collaborate on research projects within a globally based team to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
2. Collaborate on research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, speech and other modalities).
3. Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, while identifying intermediate milestones.
4. Drive team goals & technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organization more efficient.
5. Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications.
6. Contribute research that can be applied to Meta product development.
7. Devise better data-driven models of human behavior.
8. Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of machine learning, AI, computer science, applied mathematics or related technical fields. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
9. Experience in theoretical and empirical research and for addressing research problems.
10. Knowledge in a programming language and experience in developing and debugging in Python.
11. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment., 12. Experience working in a team solving modeling problems using AI/ML approaches.
13. First-author publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ACL, Interspeech and ICASSP).
14. Experience driving original scholarship in collaboration with a team.
15. Experience in developing and debugging in PyTorch.
16. Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.
