The Homes for Ukraine Resettlement Integration & Independence Support Offer, guided by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC), supports individuals and families of all ages. We aim to provide a warm welcome and empower families to integrate into British culture and their new Staffordshire communities.

Evidence and feedback show that families are more successful when their needs are addressed early, avoiding reliance on services. This approach not only improves lives but is also more sustainable, helping us support more families effectively.

Reporting Relationships
Responsible to: Resettlement Practitioner Lead
Key Accountabilities
Manage a full caseload, prioritizing tasks in line with policies, procedures, budgets, and relevant legislation to help families integrate into Staffordshire life.
Ensure all work meets national and local policies and deadlines.
Conduct regular reviews of guest and sponsorship arrangements, using findings to develop plans in collaboration with families and partner agencies.
Support interventions that foster positive relationships, stability, and positive outcomes for children through parenting assessments, mediation, and crisis prevention.
Engage in regular supervision and keep the Resettlement Practitioner Lead informed of significant issues.
Use creative, flexible approaches tailored to the needs of families, providing timely support.
Work with families and sponsors to address breakdowns or rematching needs early, ensuring alternative, suitable arrangements are made in line with statutory obligations.
Assist guests in accessing personalized budgets to support effective resettlement and integration, achieving positive outcomes.

Qualifications/Professional Membership
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience working with children and families.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience working directly with children, young people, and families in statutory, voluntary, or social housing settings.
Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary environments.
Knowledge of legislation regarding resettlement, immigration, housing, and social care.
Understanding of child development, resettlement challenges, and the impact of stress or trauma.
Awareness of vulnerabilities such as mental health, domestic abuse, poverty, and substance misuse.
Knowledge of education, training, and work opportunities for resettled families.
Understanding of the Benefits System and statutory agency frameworks (e.g., education, housing, health).
Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office.
Skills
Strong communication skills for engaging with children, families, and young people.
Ability to build relationships, negotiate, and deliver effective interventions.
Capability to manage conflict situations effectively.
Support families and sponsors to access services and promote long-term integration.
Ability to prioritize work and manage competing demands.
Commitment to restorative practices when working with families.
Accurate record-keeping and IT proficiency.
