Full Job Description
Bryanston currently has an exciting opportunity for a passionate graduate to assist with Music initially for one year. This role would ideally suit a Music graduate interested in exploring the teaching profession and gaining experience in a leading Music department. Bryanston has an outstanding musical tradition, and music is at the heart of school life in every aspect - socially, academically, and spiritually. A focus on participation and performance ensures that music touches the lives of the whole school community. Bryanston is a world-class co-educational full-boarding school surrounded by Dorset countryside and provides an outstanding education for 780 pupils aged 3-18. The role will involve residing in staff accommodation and playing a central role in running the boarding house. There is a vibrant community of staff living on site, many of whom also undertake residential boarding house duties with accommodation provided. Full induction and support will be available, and although this is an appointment for one academic year in the first instance, there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to have their employment extended as part of our in-post PGCE teacher training programme, in due course. Bryanston offers a competitive package, including:
- Free accommodation
- Free meals
- Training and development opportunities
- Free gym membership and access to our state-of-the-art sports facilities, including a 25m indoor swimming pool
- Life assurance at 3 times salary
- Employee assistance and wellbeing support programme
- A staff benefits platform including perks and discounts, travel and lifestyle, cycle scheme and more. For any queries, please contact the Human Resources Department via recruitment@bryanston.co.uk For further information and to apply online, please visit: www.bryanston.co.uk/employment Closing date: Wednesday, 23 April 2025. The welfare of Bryanston pupils is of paramount importance. Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers share this commitment. Bryanston is committed to celebrating diversity and a culture of open-mindedness and inclusion. We stand against everything to do with discrimination and promote fundamental British values. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School will conduct an online search of any applicant invited for interview. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
