Revenues Inspection Officer£24,441 - £28,670 per annum, pro rata18.5 hours per week, PermanentColeford Are you Customer focused and do you have high attention to detail?We would like to hear from you! We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused part time, Permanent Revenues Inspection Officer to join our team in the Forest of Dean.In this role, you will be responsible for all Revenues inspections with the Forest of Dean District, with the aim of ensuring Council Tax and Business Rates properties are brought into the lists in a timely manner, and that reductions and premiums are applied correctly.Experience in undertaking site visits and inspections in Revenues or a related field is essential, as is the requirement to hold a full UK driving licence and have the ability to travel and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Knowledge of the geographical area is also desirable.About the role…To carry out all Revenues inspections, negotiating with external agents the dates for completing

properties to ensure that completion notices are accurate and that new builds are brought into the List as soon as practicable.To investigate properties to verify exemptions, discounts and reliefs and take appropriate action where those reliefs no longer applyTo monitor and review Long Term Empty properties and Second Homes, assisting with the administration of premium charges and maximising the income from these levies.For more information about this role please see the Job Description/Person Specification.You will need…Experience in assessing routine situations and carrying out inspections as requiredGCSEs (5 A-Cs or equivalent, including Maths and English)Good IT skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to delve deeper to find the answersExcellent communication skillsCustomer focused approachA full UK Driving LicenceThe ability to work alone and adhere to our Lone Working PolicyKnowledge of Council Tax and/or Business Rates legislation is desirable but not essentialSpecial
