Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging, and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. Already an industry-leader in many respects, we want to continue setting standards and evolving to respond to strategic changes., We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Risk Management Framework Manager, to join the Global Risk team. Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, treasury, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market, and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight, and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth. The Risk Management Framework (RMF) describes our approach to managing risk across the entire Group and is applicable to all employees. It applies to all the types of risk, both financial and non-financial, that we face in our business and operational activities. It is used throughout the Group, including all subsidiaries, legal entities, regions, Global Businesses, Functions and HSBC Digital Business Services ("DBS"). In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the RMF to ensure it accurately reflects our approach to risk management and is complete in its scope.
  • Providing input to HSBC's risk management principles and approach to identifying, measuring, managing, and reporting risk.
  • Enabling consistent, comprehensive, and controlled risk management in HSBC.
  • Managing the annual review and refresh of the RMF and ensuring its appropriate passage through governance.
  • Global communications cascade on key changes to the RMF.
  • Reviewing supporting risk frameworks and approach documents to ensure they are consistent with, and meet the requirements of, the RMF, including common terminology.
  • Owning and managing the associated "RMF" Entity Level Control.
  • Owning and managing the associated annual Global Mandatory Training.
  • Providing day-to-day support, advice, training, and guidance to relevant stakeholders on the requirements of the RMF.

  • Track record of exploring and running with new ideas and approaches.
  • Strong communication skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment.
  • Excellent business writing, presentation and influencing skills.
  • The base location for this role is London - Hybrid Working.
