Job Title: Risk Oversight Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Alderley Edge or Edinburgh

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

The bulk purchase annuity business is a key area of growth for Royal London. This has created an exciting new position for a Risk Oversight Manager
to join our team located in our Alderley Edge for Edinburgh office on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Risk and the UK Business Risk Director by providing independent assessments and opinions on risk management culture within the UK business, with a focus on Bulk Purchase Annuity Teams.

This role involves overseeing and challenging senior management on risk management and control environments, offering daily risk management advice and training, collaborating with business management to identify and report risks, and promoting a strong risk culture across the Group.

Additionally, you will conduct Risk Advisory reviews, provide second line oversight on adherence to the Group's Risk Management System, engage with key projects, and contribute to risk governance cycles.

About the Role

-Ensure effective processes are in place to identify, assess, manage, and report risks, providing second line oversight and challenge to senior risk owners.
-Lead risk oversight reviews and investigations, liaising with senior stakeholders and contributing to operational risk reporting and control self-assessments.
-Promote risk and control ownership within the business, providing daily risk management advice, support, and training to embed a strong risk culture.
-Participate in governance forums, provide input to risk governance cycles, and produce risk management insights and reports for senior management.
-Support the Head of Risk with the Annual Operational Risk Capital process, lead scenario analysis workshops, and deputize for the Head of Risk and Risk Director when necessary.

About You

-Experience in an operational risk environment in Financial Services, preferably with experience in BPA business.
-Strong knowledge of PRA/FCA requirements as they apply to BPA business and Financial Services.
-Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence others.
