Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 5 physiotherapist. We are looking for enthusiastic Physiotherapists to join our Band 5 rotation. We can offer work in a variety of clinical areas within Physiotherapy including; MSK out -patients, trauma and orthopaedics, respiratory care, surgical, medical, care of the elderly, paediatrics, and neurology. In addition we have rotations with the Wirral Community Health and Care Trust within transfer to assess and community rehabilitation., The successful candidates would have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment whilst maintaining their CPD portfolio, including; the WUTH preceptorship programme lasting 12 months post qualification and named mentor with regular supervision sessions.

The successful candidates should have experience of working in the NHS acute settings as a student or qualified Physiotherapist . They should have good clinical reasoning skills, good communication skills and a high level of awareness of patients' needs and patient centred care.,

  • Graduate Diploma or BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student physiotherapist with qualification pending)
  • HCPC registration (or pending)
  • Appropriate experience as a student or qualified physiotherapist
  • Previous care experience
  • Student placements in a range of core areas : o Respiratory (including HDU / ICU) o Orthopaedics o Musculoskeletal Outpatients o Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Desirable Member of Charted Society of Physiotherapy or similar,
  • Appropriate experience as student physiotherapist or qualified physiotherapist
  • Student placements in a range of core areas : Respiratory (including HDU / ICU), Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Good analytical, problem solving and clinical reasoning skills
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in hospital computer system
  • Ability to communicate within difficult circumstances and demonstrate empathetic approach to patients
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), analytical, problem solving skills and clinical reasoning
  • Understanding of national issues and relating them to own clinical practice
  • Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training Essential Experience working as part of multidisciplinary team Desirable
  • Active collection of relevant CPD in portfolio
  • High level of clinical reasoning with excellent theoretical knowledge underpinning practice
  • Demonstrate a good awareness of needs of patient and appropriate action to take
  • Demonstrate awareness of the roles of others in providing patient care and ability to work as an effective team member
