Full Job Description

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our well established and highly respected team. This limited opportunity is primarily to support maternity leave cover for a period of 10-12 months. As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing clinical assistance and support to the team of qualified occupational therapists and physiotherapists. This will include carrying out activities of daily living, exercise programmes and issuing relevant equipment, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. You will be able to refer to the qualified therapists for guidance and supervision where necessary., To assist the therapy team in providing a high standard of service to patients referred from a variety of settings. Including supporting the multi-professional team in the assessment and implementation of treatment programmes and care plans for patients. The post holder will work with patients from all areas of the acute hospital including elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, surgery, medical, amputees, older peoples' services and the stroke unit. Key result areas

  • o Under the supervision of an occupational therapist or physiotherapist the post holder will be expected to assist the Health Care Professionals in the assessment and treatment of patients. This will involve patients who may have complex and varying physical and psychological presentationsAgreed treatment programmes / care plans will be carried out by the post holder, at times working alone within the patient's home.
  • To work under supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular instruction, guidance, training and support. Access to advice and support from an occupational therapist or physiotherapist is available whenever required. Work is routinely evaluated.
