Full Job Description

As the Head of Sport, you will be responsible for all aspects of sport at Oakfield Preparatory School. You will lead our team of coaches to develop sporting excellence and encourage participation among pupils of all abilities. Your role will involve planning, delivering, and growing our sports programs both within the curriculum and co-curriculum., Develop and maintain a clear Development Plan for the Sports Department.
Lead and inspire a team of sports staff, promoting good sportsmanship and conduct.
Manage a well-balanced competitive fixture program and ensure inclusive team selection.
Liaise with the Operations Team to maintain indoor and outdoor facilities.
Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.
Monitor and appraise sports staff, providing training and induction as needed.
Plan and coordinate the annual sporting calendar, including fixtures, events, and Sports Days.
Represent Oakfield at relevant association conferences and meetings.

Strong understanding of the Sport and PE curriculum.
Experience teaching within KS1 and KS2.
Outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
Enthusiasm for professional development and a genuine interest in working with children.
