Excellent opportunity to join the maintenance team at leading independent day school based in Hampshire. The maintenance team support the diverse needs of the school's sites and applicants ideally need to have general building maintenance skills as well as experience in plumbing. The ability to work well in a team and have a can do attitude is key. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Estates Team, working across both our Senior and Junior School campuses. This role involves carrying out essential repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure our school environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of all school buildings, identifying and addressing maintenance issues to uphold a high standard across all sites.
- Collaborate closely with the Estates Manager, updating them on daily maintenance activities and utilising our computerised Maintenance Logging system to track and report progress.
- Perform reactive repairs and scheduled maintenance, while ensuring all building certifications and safety standards are up-to-date.
- Assist with furniture movement and setup for events and day-to-day operations as needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring all workshop and facility areas are clean and well-organised.
- Support site operations, including traffic control and parking duties, and assist with site tidiness. Qualifications & Personal Attributes:
- Relevant qualifications or significant experience in building maintenance, ideally with additional expertise in plumbing or joinery.
- Experience in a similar role within a school or college setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, a team-player attitude, and a flexible approach to working collaboratively.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, with a strong commitment to creating a safe environment for everyone on site.
- Physical fitness and a full, clean driving licence are essential; minibus training will be provided. The role requires a flexible approach, as there may be occasional evening or weekend work for school events.
