Full Job Description
Research and Development: Lead and execute research projects focused on improving the efficiency and safety of nuclear processes.
Project Management: Manage project portfolios, adhering to budgets and deadlines. This includes planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Teaching and Mentoring: Deliver training and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, university partners and regulatory bodies.
Communication: Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Senior Scientist with a strong background in nuclear chemistry and materials science. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, nuclear processes, research, and mentoring, within the nuclear industry. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with engineering and client teams., Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Extensive experience of nuclear processes and related chemistry.
Experience leading and mentoring teams of engineers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working within the regulated nuclear environment.
Proficiency in relevant software and laboratory equipment.
Desired Skills:
Experience of nuclear processes, waste management and disposal.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
Experience with industrial collaborations and partnerships.
Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
