Join a team that's as ambitious as you are.
An ambitious and inspiring professional, you believe that teaching is about transforming lives and futures. It's about ensuring that every pupil, whatever their background or level of ability, enjoys the support they need to achieve exceptional results. So, join our team - and enjoy the support you need to make that difference. Bring your talents to City of London Academy Southwark, a school that's part of the City of London Academies Trust.
At City of London Academy, Southwark, we offer high-quality education in a vibrant, innovative learning environment, where students and staff feel valued and supported. We are passionate about helping every student achieve their full potential in a caring, inclusive community.
High-achieving and oversubscribed, City of London Academy is renowned for being more than just a school; we are dedicated to nurturing every student's holistic development.
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional qualified teacher to join us as Second in Charge of Geography from January 2025 or April 2025. You will report into the Head of Geography and you will support them to promote the work of the department. You will support the development of colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning across the department. As a member of our staff you will be instrumental in laying the foundation of outstanding standards of education and creating a stimulating and purposeful environment where our pupils can make excellent progress.
You will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards of attainment and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and behaviour management strategies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with good communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their communities.
Ambition and progress: two words that encapsulate the ethos of this rapidly growing Trust. Already the country's best performing Trust for the new Progress 8 measure for Key Stage Four, we're committed to achieving world-class results as we shape outstanding educational outcomes for the children and young people we serve.
We have high expectations too. That's important here, because we know that you can only teach effectively in an atmosphere that'd grounded in exemplary behaviour. You'll also find a refreshing culture that combines the heritage and tradition of the Corporation of London with a genuinely innovative, enterprising and entrepreneurial approach.
We have big plans to develop still further - but we know that we can only make those plans a reality if we attract and retain excellent teachers. That's why we offer tailored training and development, plus excellent career advancement opportunities within this evolving Trust.
If this role is of interest to you and you can contribute to our future success, please apply via the TES website. Should you require any other details or an informal discussion please contact our HR Department via email hr@cityacademy.co.uk or call .
