The Educate Group are seeking an Initial teacher Training PE subject knowledge tutor to join our successful team in the area. This role is a hybrid one and therefore offers a good deal of flexibility. . Do you have current or recent experience supporting and developing Trainee teachers and are familiar with the Core Content Framework? · Do you have a commitment to developing high quality Trainee teachers to gain QTS? · Would you embrace the opportunity of working directly with Trainees in school as part of a scheduled Programme, but with some flexibility around your own schedule? · Do you have a passion for your Subject and wish to share this and your experiences with the next generation of teachers? You will be responsible for: · Providing support and challenge for individual Trainees. · Developing, monitoring, and supporting Trainees progress over the academic year in-line with the ITT curriculum. · Supporting Trainees' Subject Knowledge development through the design and delivery (online) of training resources. Who are Educate Group Initial Teacher Training? We are a team of teachers; we have walked in your shoes and worked in your world… As a team, we have over 100 years combined teaching and senior leadership experience and taught across all education sectors. We have provided training and support to thousands of Trainee teachers to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and both the School Centred Initial Teacher Training and Assessment Only routes. What will I be expected to do? As a Subject Knowledge Tutor: · Design Subject Knowledge Tutorials within your discipline based upon the Educate ITT curriculum. · Support Subject Knowledge training by directing Trainees to up to date resources/materials and using evidence-based practice to enhance this. · Deliver Subject Knowledge Tutorials live (5 hour session which includes 60 minutes for breaks) as part of the Subject Knowledge curriculum. o There are 4 Tutorials left for this year, with two being (winter & summer sports) in both our regional hubs: Cheshire & Lincolnshire. · Review and assess Trainee Subject Knowledge Audits, Targets and Outcomes of Subject Knowledge Tutorials to inform planning and identify clear actions for Trainees and Mentors. · Summarise Subject Knowledge Tutorials to support the work of all stakeholders. · Attend all Subject Knowledge Tutor training sessions delivered by the Educate ITT Programme Leaders. These will take place online, between 2 and 3 hours. There will be renumeration for attendance. · Liaise closely with the Educate ITT team as part of the quality assurance process of the training programme.

· Qualified Teacher Status · Relevant Degree What skills or qualities do I need? · Up to date knowledge of: o the ITT Core Content Framework o current education developments, legislation, and statutory requirements o your relevant phase and/or subject curriculum · Professional engagement with developments in teacher development and school improvement. · Ability to work effectively as a team member. · High quality communications skills both written and oral. · Excellent organisation skills and ability to manage own diary effectively. · Commitments to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices. What experience do I need? · Substantial classroom experience as a subject teacher - minimum 5 years in the last 10 years. · Up to date knowledge of the current curriculum taught in mainstream school in England. · First-hand experience of supporting Initial Teacher Training and/or Early Career Teachers in a school environment. · Experience of designing and delivering training. · Experience of working closely with external and partner organisations. What registrations do I need to hold?

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. If you are not on the Update Service, you will have to apply for a new one through Educate.

  • Your contract will be as a 'Consultant' with Educate Group on a self-employed basis.
  • Hours Flexible but based around the Educate Group ITT programme where there are fixed calendar windows for when Subject Knowledge Tutorials place (mid-December, mid-February, mid- March and Mid-June). Remuneration Subject Knowledge Tutor: Tutorial design and delivery: This is a project-based payment across 4 Tutorials which require designing and delivering. 2 x Tutorials will be delivered online, with a total payment of £480 remuneration for the design and delivery of both sessions. These sessions will be delivered to the both cohorts as one group. 2 x Tutorials will be delivered face-to-face, with the same Tutorial being delivered on separate days to our cohort of Cheshire based Trainees and to our cohort of Lincolnshire based Trainees, in the same week. Total renumeration of £720 for the design of 2 the sessions and 4x delivery. Invoices will be following delivery. Subject Knowledge Tutor: Expenses: Travel expenses of 45p per mile are paid in addition to the daily rate. Where appropriate overnight accommodation expenses maybe claimed. Attendance to online training delivered by Educate Payment will also be made for the attendance for Subject Knowledge Tutor training. Live attendance: £20 p/h
