The successful candidate will act as both pastoral and curriculum keyworker for a small group of young people delivering a range of subject content and skills. We are looking for candidates with a breadth of experience of working with young people, who are enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated and are passionate about inclusive education., The post holder will be a role model of effective educational practice in a specialised SEMH setting for all staff and children. About the Academy & Cabot Learning Federation Lime Hills Academy is a state funded special school for young people in years 5 - 11 who have an EHCP to support their SEMH needs. We will be moving into our new build in Churchill in September 2025. As a temporary arrangement we have been supported by the DfE and CLF to deliver our provision across two sites: a secondary site in Weston and a primary site in Nailsea. At our core is a belief that every young person deserves the right to an educative experience that prepares them for adulthood and opens doors at Post 16. We do this by providing a targeted core curriculum that focuses in equal parts on literacy, numeracy, and PSHE. The curriculum at Lime Hills is delivered both in and out of the classroom - with outdoor education, enrichment activities, forest school, art and development of emotional literacy and communication. The Cabot Learning Federation is a diverse Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in the South West. We are proud to serve 18,000+ pupils who all attend ten secondary academies, thirteen primary academies, an all through provision, a studio school, a discrete Post 16 provision, two alternative provision schools and three SEMH special schools. CLF is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The trust is proud to serve a diverse student population and their communities. We actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion. We are proud to be part of diverse communities in the region and celebrate the richness of cultures, faiths and backgrounds of our students.
We look for passionate individuals who want to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of Lime Hills Academy and the Cabot Learning Federation. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. A well-qualified teacher, holding QTS (or equivalent) you will have the ability to teach Key Stage 2 - Key Stage 3 students.
We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. We provide excellent training and development opportunities within the Federation, including a full induction programme for early career and experienced teachers. Training is both local and/or delivered through our excellent stand-alone training facility at the CLF Institute. For teachers, the CLF Institute aims to provide a continuum of development through each career stage from initial teacher training (ITT), for Early Career Teachers (ECT), recently qualified teachers in their early career development, to successive stages of leadership through to Headship and beyond. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will make an important contribution to the continued development of nurture group development at Lime Hills, set high expectations and provide expertise and passion in equal measure. Their practice will ensure the best possible personal and curriculum outcomes enabling our young people to achieve the skills and qualifications that will open doors for the rest of their lives. You will be able to demonstrate the enthusiasm and tenacity needed to work in a sometimes challenging but highly rewarding environment, alongside maintaining the highest professional standards. You may have experience of working with students in a specialised setting, or you may be looking for your first role in an SEN school - you must however be motivated to make a positive difference to our students' learning journey and care deeply about their creative achievement alongside their wellbeing and personal development., Candidate Talent Pool - To join the CLF Candidate Talent Pool and keep in touch with us about future roles that may be of interest, please sign up here: CLF Candidate Talent Pool. Teaching Training - The CLF SCITT provides school-centred initial teacher training for graduates who want to become a primary or secondary school teacher. Safeguarding and pre-employment checks: The Cabot Learning Federation are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity. The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK and a child disqualification check. The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
