Full Job Description
This role is to work as part of the portfolio management team, which is a well-established national team of junior fee-earners and supervisory senior fee-earners who support our national Real Estate group. Our Real Estate group covers every aspect of commercial real estate work including, development, investment, asset management, funding, construction, landlord and tenant, planning and environmental and dispute resolution. Clients include property management and development companies, health trusts and government bodies (local and central), owner occupiers and institutions, both in the UK and overseas., The role will include:
- Running own caseload of more complex landlord and tenant/asset management matters for variety of clients, predominantly on the landlord side but with some tenant side work too.
- Co-ordinating instructions and workflow for key client accounts, comprising triaging instructions and delegating work to the most appropriate team member.
- Supervising junior fee earners on more simple landlord and tenant work across a transaction from start to finish.
- Line management of paralegals/trainee solicitors and working to develop our future qualified fee earners.
Qualified Solicitor (5+PQE) - High level of technical expertise and an interest in Retail Asset Management
- Experience working on landlord and tenant/asset management work including technically complex lettings
- A proactive attitude to networking
- A passion for, and experience of, supervising junior team members (paralegal/trainee/junior qualified) and enthusiasm for working to develop future talent
- The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to analyse and apply legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies
- Sound judgment in decision making and being focused on client and case needs
