Full Job Description
Want to be part of the success story of BBC Radio Wales?
BBC Radio Wales is the national English language radio station for Wales. We produce 140 hours of output a week, from production bases across Wales, with a broad range of content - including News, Politics, Sport, Entertainment, Comedy, Music and Religion. At BBC Radio Wales we are passionate about creating radio which sits at the heart of Welsh life. We entertain our listeners while informing and educating them - but we want to go further than that: we'll surprise our audience, delight them - not just sometimes, but every day.
We're home to a diverse range of Religious output including our weekly worship slot, Celebration, and our award-winning religious affairs programme All Things Considered. Our content for Radio Four Network includes Sunday Worship, Prayer For The Day and The Daily Service, the Radio Wales Arts Show presented by Gary Raymond and Radio Wales Science Café presented by Adam Walton.
We're warm, we're welcoming, and hearing from and interacting with our listeners is an essential part of our daily output, because BBC Radio Wales is somewhere our audience calls home., As a Content Producer you will lead, motivate and support a team, ensuring that the editorial vision is communicated and understood.
You'll be responsible for devising, planning and making distinctive digital and audio content across Radio Wales and BBC network radio for a variety of religious, art and science programmes both from and for Wales.
You'll come up with imaginative and compelling programme ideas in a wide range of styles and formats (including worship) which you'll see through to completion as an active member of a small, mutually supportive, and highly engaged religious programmes team.
With an ear for stories and content that resonates with our audiences, you'll have a good sense of the social and political context of Wales and the place of religion and spirituality within contemporary Welsh society.
The ideal candidate will have hands on experience of live studio production and have demonstrable experience of working with and directing both new and established presenters.
You'll embrace the BBC's digital development plan and ensure content is delivered to the highest standards on all digital platforms including BBC Sounds and social media
