Senior Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Flexible
Head Office London/Bedford Accessible
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week
The role:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience within Databricks to join the team here at Ramsay Health Care UK. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be heavily involved in the technical implementation of a new heath care data eco-system to drive improved decision making and insight. This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining high performing and secure data solutions for Ramsay Healthcare.
You will engage and work closely with a variety of data analysts, business and IT stakeholders and will advise on the best approach to meet those requirements. You will build trust and clearly communicate complex, or technical concepts to a variety of audiences, providing thought leadership to an integrated team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers.
What you’ll do:
Implement transactional data models to manage a data migration to the Azure data platform
Provide quality assurance & challenge existing processes & solutions to maintain data standards and policies
Use expert knowledge to design and develop ETL pipelines and cloud data storage solutions that meet business requirements, while also taking into consideration non-functional needs.
Use DevOps and agile methods to deliver frequent, prioritised platform fixes & enhancements and partner with data analysts, visualisation engineers and project managers to deliver data solutions
Surface data for analytical consumption and prepare data for ML / predictive and prescriptive etc modelling
What you’ll bring with you:
Experience of building data pipelines in a cloud platform (Azure, GCP, AWS)
2 years minimum experience within Databricks
Highly proficient in data modelling and data analysis
High degree of knowledge in data structures and data architecture
Expert in relational databases, and data warehousing
Advanced SQL and python
Experience working in CI/CD, DevOps and agile delivery environments
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Experience of provision of data to external (i.e. regulatory) organisations
Demonstrated high level analytical, design and problem-solving skills within a complex IT environment
Desirable experience of, MS DevOps, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, PowerBI
Desirable experience of advanced analytics / statistical modelling techniques (preferred)
Experience of EPR systems, SAP S/4 & working with clinical and financial data
