Are you a skilled Database Administrator looking to make an impact in healthcare?
The NCA is seeking an DBA to help manage, optimise, and secure our critical databases, supporting the delivery of vital services to patients across Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale. In this essential role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and fine-tuning databases to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity across our systems.
Working with other Digital teams, you'll oversee database design, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, and performance tuning, ensuring data is always accessible, secure, and compliant with NHS standards. Your expertise will help safeguard patient information ,while enabling our healthcare professionals to access the data they need quickly and accurately., As a Senior DBA in the NCA, you will play a significant role in supporting the management and maintenance of database infrastructure essential for healthcare operations. Your responsibilities encompass various tasks aimed at ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of NCA databases.
Your primary duty will involve assisting in the administration and maintenance of database systems across NCA sites. This includes supporting the deployment of database servers, storage systems, and associated infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with NHS standards and industry best practices.
In addition to providing support, you will assist in implementing basic security measures to protect database environments and sensitive data. This may involve assisting in the implementation of access controls, monitoring systems, and adherence to security policies to mitigate cybersecurity risks within database systems.
Your hands-on experience with SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases will be key, along with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for optimisation and automation. You'll play a pivotal role in developing a resilient data infrastructure that supports NCA goals and drives healthcare innovation.
