Senior Dental Nurse- Specialised

To effectively deliver fundamental dental care to the patients, ensuring it is evidence based and maintainedto a high standard, working in partnership with the patient and family. The senior dental nurse will provideclinical support to dental practitioners during procedures in orthodontics.The post will also cover Paediatric Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery in their role of delivering high qualityclinical services., This post primarily involves working with patients across sites, providing specialised orthodontic nursingsupport at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Solihull Hospital. The post holderwill be working as part of the dental team including consultants, dental nurses and administrators. The postmay have a requirement to work within other Outpatient services if required.The post holder will also provide day to day clinical supervision of the dental nursing team in their professionaldevelopment. The post will supervise work of unqualified dental nurses, dental nurse students and supportwith undergraduate teaching, and trainee dental hygiene students.The post holder will provide pre- and post-operative dental hygiene advice to patients in specialised dentalarea. In addition, the post holder may be required to carry out dental radiography and/or sedation.
