This post in intended for registrar grade doctors who wish to be eligible for a UK consultant post in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery via the CESR route. A certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) is the essential requirement for doctors via non-deanery training to be eligible to apply for a UK substantive post. The training rotation will allow you to meet the minimum requirements for eligibility via the CESR route. Each post will last 6 months and will encompass the following specialties:

  • Hip and Knee Surgery
  • Hand Surgery
  • Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
  • Spine
  • Paediatric Orthopaedics
  • Foot and Ankle Surgery
  • Major Trauma
  • Responsibilities: WHAT YOU'LL DO The post is intended for a Surgeon who is developing a specialist interest in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery with additional option to be involved in Elective surgery. There will be the opportunity to operate on elective and traumatic conditions both supervised and when suitable, alone. Audit and research are an expected part of this role.
