Reporting to the Essex Local Story Team News Editor, you will be responsible for covering stories across BBC East Online, Radio and TV platforms. You will be a key member of the Essex Local Story Team which will deliver content across all platforms every day. The SJR will be expected to sometimes respond to news on the day but also generate original story and feature ideas that can be gathered and written/produced in advance.

Are you the right candidate?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about telling local news stories across all our platforms. You will be editorially engaged and always on the look out for original journalism opportunities. The SJR will be part of a team which is establishing new work flows - so adaptability and teamwork will be essential. Excellent communication skills are also fundamental as the SJR will be expected to liaise with multiple platform producers on any given day as they create content.

Salary: £39,800 - £48,300 pro rata depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
