It is expected that the highest level of training will be provided in the post to enable the Doctor to work as part of a team in a tertiary referral centre, with the appropriate skills to organise and supervise local and regional services, and be active in teaching, quality management and translate research findings into clinical practice., The Subspecialty training program has been organised with continuous clinically based training with opportunity for training in additional areas such as basic sciences during the working week. There are opportunities to work with Consultant colleagues in Colorectal and Urology who support training in the subspecialty training curriculum.

The trainee will be expected to supplement the teaching provided with personal study and reading to ensure all aspects of the curriculum are covered during the training period.
