As part of this role, you'll be responsible for leading the team that will transform our food strategy and offering in the UK to significantly grow the sales and margins of the food category through the development and implementation of a new food strategy based on the food sprint project. This Role is key to the future success of the UK market and will contribute to market growth, market segmentation and market success. You'll also be responsible for the strategic and operational plans for Starbucks food, including the development of brand consistent, consumer-led, innovative product ranges, key supplier relationships and management and cross functional leadership of roll out. We'll look to you to bring your significant category management experience with a key understanding of how to access category growth levers. You'll have proven experience in leading category strategy, operational business plans, trend understanding and interpretation. We'll look for you to share your record in delivering positive top and bottom-line growth to categories with an experience of leading product development projects from inspiration to completion in a branded business. You'll have experience of developing a food offering which meets consumer needs and matches brand values, which has been driven from your experience of commercial sales analysis. We're looking for someone who has experience in project management with strong commercial acumen as well as strategic and operational capabilities. The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Working as our senior manager, food, you'll get involved in:

• The strategic direction of fresh food in the UK: working with key stakeholders, you'll set the strategic direction for food in line with global brand guidelines, including long term strategy and annual business planning activity
• Consulting on the annual operating plan for the food category
• Managing products through their lifecycle, providing recommendations of category to key stakeholders across the business
• The commercial ownership of our food transformation pilot and rollout: managing the in-year plan, continuously assessing and monitoring the performance of categories. Highlighting and acting upon emerging themes or insights to address or accelerate performance
• Setting, reviewing and adjusting product forecasts.
• The future food strategy for the UK: responsible for the future food strategy and continuous monitoring of the market and consumer trends and insights. Acting on these with suppliers to create products that place Starbucks in a place to exploit the emerging trends
• Leveraging and leading suppliers in the development of innovative new products, packaging or concepts from concept through to implementation to ensure they meet the needs of the UK market and customer, ensuring they are based on financial viability and brand fit
• Working with suppliers to ensure Starbucks has the right equipment in store to allow the delivery of high-quality food products in line with speed of service requirements, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver
• Defining and executing detailed implantation plans for product and new initiative rollouts. Creating content and tools for communication to stores and our marketing functions to brief on support for food categories in campaigns
• Collaborating with our procurement team to ensure that the supplier base is reviewed for both cost and quality on a regular basis
• Leading a high performing team as well as building strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams, suppliers, agencies and retail partners
