Full Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager IRRBB Methodology and Governance. This is a unique opportunity to work in a global bank, implementing HSBC's Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) risk management framework and strategy. In addition, this role will give you the opportunity to work in a team supporting the Global Head of IRRBB Methodology & Governance, in implementing HSBC's Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) risk management framework and strategy. Working closely with Markets Treasury, Regional IRRBB teams, Strategy Execution & Controls, Treasury Risk Management, Lines of Business, FinOPs, IT, SP&ST to improve HSBC's to continue to enhance IRRBB capabilities. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate within the Global Treasury IRRBB team, reporting to the Head of IRRBB Methodology & Governance, the role holder will provide support on all Methodology and Framework related activities, helping to shape and drive the implementation of the IRRBB risk management framework by providing day-to-day business leadership, harnessing support from Global Treasury colleagues.
  • Combining subject matter expertise in IRRBB topics, together with good experience and understanding of structuring and driving large scale strategy implementation to meet business objectives.
  • Supporting activities to improve the measurement and management of all material IRRBB risk, ensuring all material sources of IRRBB risks are consistently captured and measured using centrally defined methodologies and models globally.
  • Supporting the implementation of the IRRBB Risk Management Framework i.e., Methodologies, Frameworks and Procedures, ensuring they meet all internal HSBC needs and regulatory needs, and input into the policy owned by IRRBB 2LOD.
  • Acting as IRRBB subject matter expert for all sites globally, advising on 'best in class' ways of works for all items related to methodologies, framework, governance structures and regulation, providing valued insights to steer business decision making.
  • Ensuring and promote sharing and adoption of best practice / lessons learned / continual improvement ethos.

    Current and demonstrable experience working within a Bank.
  • Substantial experience with relevant IRRBB systems, data, and modelling infrastructure.
  • Detailed knowledge of IRRBB risk management, methodologies, governance frameworks, and external regulatory environment.
  • Relevant product knowledge with emphasis on banking book products, structural hedging frameworks, and associated modelling and metrics (NII, EVE etc), across a combination of regulatory requirements and optimisation initiatives.
  • Collaborative, engaging and methodical; being able to bring the numbers to life/ navigate the bigger picture (e.g., presenting).
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels of seniority).
  • The preferred base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
