Full Job Description
- Responsibility for operational performance of the Materials Planning team, in consideration of the company objectives. This includes ownership of both individual and team results for: - Inventory Control (KPIs inc: stock turn by category) and material replenishment - Planning and Purchase Order processing for key customer accounts (KPIs inc. OTIF) - To monitor key customer trends against forecasts and make recommendations based upon findings.
- 3P Service Provider Management, inc: - Warehouse (KPIs inc: unit cost by location, & supplier scorecard) - Customs Services (KPIs inc: cost per type, & compliance, & supplier scorecard)
- To coordinate the annual physical count of all stock in 3rd party facilities, including the verification and reconciliation. To also participate in any exceptional mid-term counts as required by the business.
- To maintain the company's AdBlue Toll Processing contract with Greenchem.
- To lead, administer and mentor the Materials Planning Team in to meet agreed KPI targets.
- To be responsible for the Materials Planning Team's workload balance, including duty assignments, cover and support arrangements, and first level prioritisation.
- To monitor and ensure adherence to processes within the Materials Planning Team, and to propose and develop enhancements and improvements to existing processes.
- To liaise with other internal stakeholders to ensure close collaboration and cooperation between the team and other departments, including (but not isolated to): Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, & Business Systems.
- To represent the Materials Planning Team in internal/external meetings, including (but not exclusive to) audits, customer complaints investigations, Supplier Non-Conformance resolutions, and misload investigations. To be actively involved in project management as required by the Supply Chain Manager.
A level in Mathematics or Science subject - Key understanding of inventory control and planning principles
- Team leader or supervisory experience of a small team with experience in training and developing staff
- High level of experience in a busy supply chain based environment with the responsibility for planning, organisation and prioritisation of work output
- Worked with customers suppliers and third party agents.
- Experience in record and data control, through computerised and manual systems, including the presentation and reporting of data/KPIs. Desirable:
- NVQ or equivalent in a business and/or supply chain related subject
- Experience within the oils and/or chemicals distribution sector.
- Experience of reporting team KPI performance and providing summary analysis and actions; stewarding effectiveness of prior actions, and developing new metrics and analysis.
- Awareness of the key business metrics for stewarding inventory control, asset utilisation, and transport efficiency
- Experience in running and editing Microsoft Queries
