We're on the hunt for a dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist! Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and their families, within the 0-25 disability team. We are thrilled to offer a full-time, permanent contract for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist. You will have opportunity to work with children and young people (0-25), supporting them to achieve positive outcomes. This will involve working with a range of people, social workers, support workers, education, health, housing, and private and voluntary organisations. You'll be using your clinical reasoning skills to recommend equipment and adaptations to reduce the impact of disability on daily living skills and to promote inclusivity. An essential aspect of the role of the Senior Occupational Therapist is to work preventatively in providing advice and strategies to parents and children in terms of safety within the home environment and the community. This can often involve supporting families open to Families First. Although we're seeking someone who has advanced skills, we would welcome applications from less experienced practitioners who are willing and keen to develop. If you're a less experienced Occupational Therapist, we would support your development. You will gain greater experience in using a range of interventions especially working on housing adaptation and the use of equipment to support safety, comfort, and independence. You'll be a pivotal part of the Disability (0-25) Team, having a high level of autonomy. You'll receive monthly formal supervision from the Disability Team Manager, informal supervision as /when required and team group refection practice sessions. You'll receive clinical supervision from an advanced OT practitioner to develop your clinical reasoning skills. You will also attend bi-monthly Pan Gwent SSD OT support group which will provide you with additional opportunities to develop an OT support network. About the role We're committed to supporting children and young people (0-25) with disabilities, guiding them toward brighter futures. Our approach is centered on empowering families and carers, enhancing the lives of these individuals through personalised care and support. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll be committed to delivering consistently high-quality services and driving positive outcomes for individuals. You'll assess and support children, young people (0-25) and families in variety of settings including their home, schools, and communities. Your assessment will be outcome focused, recommending and implementing intervention that are least restrictive to reduce the impact of disability and promote independence. In order to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and families, you will be engaging with housing grant departments, health, education and other disability and equipment services. Why Us? Empowering Transformations: We focus on holistic assessment and customised care plans, ensuring every child, young person, and family receives the individual attention they deserve.
