As a Senior Specialist Dietitian in Stroke Rehabilitation, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality nutritional care within our Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
· Lead specialist dietetic care for stroke patients, supporting recovery and independence.
· Work closely with consultants, speech & language therapists, physiotherapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
· Develop innovative nutritional strategies tailored to stroke rehabilitation.
· Contribute to service improvement, training, and research within a growing department.
· Lead on education facilitation for pre-registration and apprenticeship placements, work experience, and the preceptorship programme., the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Anonymous information will be used from your application in order to ensure we're meeting our pledge., The Senior Specialist Dietitian provides a highly specialist clinical service for patients who present at our stroke rehabilitation & general medical wards.
The Senior Specialist Dietitian will lead the stroke rehabilitation nutritional pathway providing direction for peers & colleagues.
The role will support the identification of those patients at nutritional risk by promoting risk screening.
To guide implementation of therapeutic dietary plans for patients with stroke supporting rehabilitation.
Alongside Speech & Language Therapy, develop the role of stroke support worker for the combined professions.
The Senior Specialist Dietitian will contribute to all relevant activities involved in the stroke rehabilitation pathway delivery e.g., ward rounds, meetings, audit, and research.
To work with HEIs (Health Education Institutes) & dietetic leads (UHBW & BNSSG) to plan program of pre-registration & apprenticeship placements.
Be responsible for organising WEX opportunities.
Support preceptorship across our teams, guiding Dietitians and new graduates / those new to NHS to become the competent & confident new workforce of our future.
Actively build networks with clinical training and service/clinical leads across the Trust and BNSSG partners to expand training while aligning to workforce priorities.
Deliver face to face teaching/presentations to small and large groups, leading on developing/overseeing innovative technology enable/blended learning methods.
To support the ambition of the Trust's education strategy, in liaison with other Adult Therapy Practice Development Education facilitators.
