Full Job Description
- We are seeking to appoint a senior staff nurse who will contribute to the provision of excellent patient care in the Home Dialysis Unit to care for patients on peritoneal and home haemodialysis.
- You should be able to draw on extensive knowledge and skills to train/educate/prepare patients to undertake dialysis at home; be comfortable in giving information to patients to help them make choices, have developed clinical decision make skills, be a confident educator for both patients and staff and be able to have a flexible approach in meeting the needs of patients., Provide excellent nursing care, utilise specialist knowledge.Actively participate and contribute to management/coordination of the department.
- To support and deputise for unit manger as necessary, supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Provide specialist knowledge in renal nursing, ensure education and training opportunities for patients and staff including pre and post registration students.
- To provide evidence-based specialist renal nursing care to all patients referred to the Trust.
- To support innovation and ensure quality is embedded into daily practice.
- To develop and expand the Home Therapies service which includes Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Haemodialysis and supported care in the community.
